Q3 revenue jumps after Control Resonant launch
Remedy Entertainment, the studio behind Control Resonant, released a strong quarterly financial update. Following the September release of the new entry, the company said its revenue rose by 226 percent in the third quarter, with reported revenue of 39.6 million.
CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon described the performance as a major milestone for the studio. The company also posted an operating profit of 0.6 million for the quarter, a sharp improvement compared with a 16.4 million loss in the same period last year.
Player base and franchise growth
Remedy said the United States accounted for nearly half of all Control Resonant players across PC and console platforms. Regions with Chinese-speaking audiences and the United Kingdom were the next largest areas.
A key highlight was the game's reach among new audiences. Nearly half of players had not previously engaged with the Control franchise. The developer said attracting new players was an important goal for the title, and early figures suggest the series is expanding its audience.
The release also helped the original Control from 2019. Its sales showed stronger performance in the quarter than both the two preceding quarters and the matching period a year earlier.
Outlook and broader context
Looking ahead, Gaudechon said the studio's focus is to bring Control Resonant to more players. He added that the title provides a solid base for growth while other projects, including a Max Payne 1 and 2 remake, are in development.
The game was visually ambitious but received mixed critical responses. Some reviewers praised the shift toward third-person action, while others felt the story was less compelling than the previous entry. Despite that, the title quickly passed one million sales after launch.
