Pearl Abyss has provided a deeper look into the technological foundation of its upcoming open-world RPG, Crimson Desert. Running on the studio's proprietary BlackSpace Engine, the title aims to deliver a high-fidelity single-player experience that combines large-scale environments with dense urban areas. Recent footage suggests the developer is achieving ambitious rendering goals, offering visual cohesion that rivals established market leaders.


Technical Performance and Hardware


The demonstration was captured on a system featuring an AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D processor and an AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX graphics card with 32GB of RAM. Despite running at native 4K resolution with 'Ultra' settings and v-sync enabled, the build maintained a 60fps target. Notably, the test did not utilize upscaling technologies, highlighting the raw efficiency of the engine. While the game is still a work in progress, the performance stands in contrast to the heavy demands often seen in other modern engines like Unreal Engine 5.
