Crimson Desert Update 1.01.00 Introduces New Mounts and Overhauled Controls

Published on 29 March, 2026

Pearl Abyss has deployed Patch 1.01.00 for Crimson Desert, delivering a substantial update focused on gameplay refinements and new content. The patch is currently available for Steam (PC) and Mac users, with PlayStation, Xbox, and Epic Games Store versions scheduled for release at a later date.

New Content and Features

The headline addition in this update is the introduction of five new summonable mounts, available to players upon completing specific in-game conditions. To streamline the gameplay loop, the developers have added a "Make Now" function for cooking and crafting, allowing for immediate creation once a recipe is selected. Additionally, a new "Refinement Token" item has been introduced, enabling equipment tempering up to Stage 4 without consuming extra materials.

Control and Combat Improvements

Significant changes have been made to movement mechanics. The update improves how sprinting functions, ensuring that speed does not drop unless specifically intended, though maintaining a full sprint still requires periodic input. Flight mechanics have also been optimized, featuring reduced stamina consumption and better responsiveness.

Combat saw a specific adjustment to the Aerial Stab skill. To address an exploit allowing repetitive mid-air use, the stamina cost now scales with consecutive uses. Various input issues for keyboard and mouse users, such as interrupted skill combos and inventory management quirks, have been resolved for a smoother experience.

Performance and Visual Enhancements

Technical performance sees a boost with reduced loading times for fast travel and respawning. Graphically, the update improves rendering stability when using upscaling technologies like FSR and DLSS. PlayStation 5 users receive a specific "Fixed 4K Output" option, allowing for sharper visuals regardless of the display's native resolution.

Quality of Life and Bug Fixes

The user interface has been updated to include a north-fixed minimap option and better notification tracking for quests. Numerous bugs were addressed, including issues where bank deposits would vanish, NPCs would turn invisible, and quest progression would stall. The patch also implements various crash fixes and stability improvements across all platforms.
