GTA 6’s 210GB Download Size Report Sets Up One of Gaming’s Biggest Preloads

Published on 28 October, 2026

A PlayStation-focused data-mining account has reported that Grand Theft Auto 6 will require a 210GB download at launch, a figure that was also corroborated by Insider Gaming. If that number holds, the upcoming title would be one of the largest games ever released by base file size, before any additional updates or assets are considered.

A massive footprint for a huge open world

The reported size is not surprising, given the scale shown in promotional screenshots and video clips. Those materials depict a massive open world packed with activities, side content, and what appears to be one of the most story-heavy entries in the franchise. A game of that ambition can naturally demand substantial storage, especially when large amounts of world data and assets must be loaded on consoles.

The final size may still change

The 210GB figure is described as the install size at the time of the report, meaning it could shift before players install the game. Final build changes or a day-one patch could also alter the amount of data required, so the download size visible on launch day may differ from the current estimate.

Preloads could strain networks worldwide

Preloading is set to begin on November 12, and a file of this size is expected to create significant bandwidth demand. When many players download a very large game at the same time, the process can put added pressure on home connections, internet service providers, and peak traffic conditions around launch.

Actor speculation adds to the buzz

In a separate note, the report also mentions Manni Perez, who is rumored to portray Lucia Caminos. She recently appeared on a livestream and avoided direct questions about the game, but her noncommittal responses and camera glances reportedly sparked online speculation that she was indirectly acknowledging her involvement.
