Pokémon Pokopia Surpasses 2.2 Million Sales in Launch Week

Published on 12 March, 2026

The Pokémon Company and Nintendo have announced a strong commercial start for their latest release, Pokémon Pokopia. According to official sales data, the title has moved more than 2.2 million units globally in its first four days of availability. Launched on March 5, 2026, the game has proven particularly popular in Japan, accounting for 1 million of the total sales figure.

The software was developed as a collaborative effort between The Pokémon Company, GAME FREAK, and KOEI TECMO GAMES. It represents a significant departure from the franchise's traditional RPG roots, offering a slow-paced life simulation experience. Players assume the role of a Ditto transformed into a human, tasked with revitalizing a desolate landscape into a thriving utopia.

Gameplay mechanics focus on gathering resources and crafting items to construct a cozy home and attract new inhabitants. The title features a real-time synchronization system, where in-game weather and day-night cycles align with the player's actual local time. Pokémon Pokopia is available now on the Nintendo Switch 2 system.
