Capcom’s latest release, Resident Evil Requiem, has officially become the franchise's most successful launch on Steam. The survival horror title set a new record for the series by reaching a peak of 267,509 concurrent users shortly after its debut.
This figure marks a significant increase compared to previous franchise installments on the PC platform. The launch numbers exceed the peak of 168,191 players reached by Resident Evil 4 Remake in early 2023. Furthermore, the new entry has more than doubled the concurrent user count of Resident Evil 7, which peaked at 106,631 players.
At the time of reporting, the game maintained a robust player count of over 230,000 active users on Steam. Industry observers view these statistics as a strong indicator of the title's commercial performance.
Broader Platform Performance
The Steam statistics represent only a segment of the game's total reach. Resident Evil Requiem is also available for purchase on the Epic Games Store and has launched on major console platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and the Nintendo Switch 2. For console players, specifically on the Switch 2, a day-one patch has been released to address early issues.

The game has been met with positive critical reception, earning high praise for its gameplay design. Reviews have highlighted the title's successful combination of horror elements, describing it as a fresh evolution for the series. To assist new players, various guides are available covering the game's length, key collectible items like Bobbleheads, and a full walkthrough of the campaign, which spans from the Rhodes Hill Chronic Care Center to Raccoon City.
