Suspect Charged in Arson Attack on Sam Altman's Home Found with Target List of AI CEOs

A 20-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder and arson following a violent rampage targeting OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and the company's headquarters in San Francisco. The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) revealed that the suspect, identified as Daniel Moreno-Gama, carried out the attacks last week.

Details of the Assault

According to the criminal complaint, the assailant first threw a Molotov cocktail at Altman’s private residence. He subsequently traveled to the OpenAI corporate headquarters, where he attempted to smash glass doors using a chair. San Francisco Police Department officers responded to the scene and detained Moreno-Gama. Upon arrest, he was found in possession of additional incendiary devices, a jug of kerosene, and a blue lighter.

Manifesto and 'Kill List' Discovered

Authorities recovered a document titled "Your Last Warning" from the suspect. The text reportedly advocated against the development of artificial intelligence and encouraged the killing of AI company executives and their investors. The document included a specific list of names and addresses purporting to belong to high-profile figures in the AI industry.

Broader Context of Corporate Security

This attack underscores rising security risks facing top corporate executives. The incident follows the recent killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in New York, signaling a disturbing pattern of targeted violence against business leaders.
